Hello all,
I would really like to find a few dwarf red or dwarf cavendash (or both!)... I have seen a number of Super Dwarf Cavendash and have a few but would like a larger Dwarf Cavendash.... I'm willing to pay shipping within reason. THX! |

I'm in BC.. Anything else you are looking for?
I have dwarfs but not sure what they are, they were listed as blood bananas.

If you can't find a DC, try a double Mahoi - it is supposed to be a mutation of DC so it ought to grow about the same.

Thanks for the responses guys... I think blood bananas are a different thing but they are very beautiful... I would love a double mahoi but don't know where to get them.... in BC Basjoo is everywhere and SDC in the department stores but for Dwarf Cavendish or Red Dwarf I can't find them even from the growers.

That may be because the 'reds' tend to be temperature sensitive.

Hi Trina,
You had me completely frazzled (Whitehorse 7b???). But now I realized, that you gave your V. Island HZ. ![]() Tell me more about your dwarfs. I live in Penticton and do not really care about the particilar species, since I cannot get any fuit here anyway. To me the colour of the foliage and hardiness are much more important. Do yours have red leaves? Could you include a picture please? I am right now in Vietnam and won't return home until March 14. Hoping to hear from you on that, best, Olaf PS: It is still a bit early to tell, but I may have an Ornata pup for you in exchange, if not in Spring, then most likely in fall. I'll hopefully know more about that after I get home. I could not receive anything from you before then anyway. For details on the Ornata see here: I Think I Scored a Coup And here: Need advice to grow a banana plant indoors all winter

Thanks GreenFin,
I have had problems getting bananas from the States due to lenghty shipping times, possibly caused by customs delays. That is why I, for one, prefer Canadian sources ![]() Though I am not speaking for Steve Morrow. Thanks anyway! Best, Olaf
