So you didn't even get a tracking#? That's 4 days. I hope it's in the mail by now. Thank you, and keep the updates coming.

I'm new here however thought I would tell you my experience. I placed an order on 7/7/15. They were very slow shipping. I received the package on 7/22/15. I did get the plants and it all worked out.

I ordered from them. Did not get a tracking. Shipping got here in two weeks. I was very pleased with the product. Ordered elephant ears and fertilizer. They gave me additional elephant ears without me requesting.

Wellspring has a delayed shipping period of about 5 days sometimes. It usually says the expected arrival date is like 2 weeks away if you order through ebay, the stuff I get from them is good and have ordered several times from them, but I usually order from somebody else so I get my plants in about 3 days, but they are usually cheaper, which might be good when buying in bulk. Several well known sellers do this with the delayed shipping, and in my opinion it causes them to lose business, its too easy to get it somewhere else in 3 days, why wait for them. I wouldn't worry too much if its a couple of weeks.

I have ordered from them before a couple different times. Everything I received was correct and in good condition. They don't send out tracking numbers unfortunately.this is where I got my dwarf Orinoco TC from among some other stuff.Dont know what you ordered but think all there plants are just starter plants so they will be small.

Well the plants came exactly 10 days after the order was placed. I think they are a little overkill on the certificates and department of agriculture stuff. It had 3 inspection stickers on it from 3 different department of agriculture offices.
Anyway the box looked like it was kicked from Florida to California and stepped on a few times. Plants seem okay but I sent them a email just in case I have problems. Only time will tell

That box looks like the mail truck backed over it. The plants were in good shape inside? Good luck with the new plants.

I ordered some Manzano from Wellspring a while ago just to have a frame of reference for their service. There was no communication that followed the order confirmation, and I also received my order within two weeks. My shipping container was not abused, however (not Wellspring's fault, IMO, but it would be nice if they can sympathize). The condition of the plant material was slightly better than what you received.
My gut impression of what I received was that Wellspring doesn't move their stock very rapidly. From the packaging to the plant size, everything is consistent with something that was called up from AgriStarts four or five months before and kept sleeved in a crowded rack with limited airflow and minimal fertilizer. Time will tell if the bananas are identified correctly, but I can't argue too much about the price and service if they are Manzano, especially in light of the other "options" for automated online banana ordering. Have you checked when your package was actually mailed out? There is a mailing date on the package as well as a tracking number. With the tracking number in hand you can still track back exactly when it was mailed out, as well as when and where it got stuck on route. Unfortunately I have experienced it several times that USPS is responsible for the delay and/or Agricultural Government departments. Your package was mailed USPS Priority Mail which includes a tracking number and $50 insurance. USPS says that domestic Priority Mail takes 2-3 business days, but this is not guaranteed. To guarantee next day or two day delivery someone has to use USPS Express Priority Mail which is even more expensive. If the package gets mailed out on a Thursday or Friday there is a pretty good chance that it gets stuck at a post office over the weekend which will further delay it. I only mail out on Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid this. It seems that your package was not treated well by USPS or possibly the CA agricultural department and it does not seem to be Wellsprings fault. Argh, I could fill an entire new thread about USPS just by myself.... |

I agree with crazy b, Saturday is the best day to ship using USPS. Experience has shown a package shipped from the Caribbean on Saturday will arrive to a Pacific Northwest address on Monday. Most realize that no new mail enters the system after the PO closes midday Saturday, that extra day & half of no new mail entering the system makes it easier for the Saturday & Friday mail to meet delivery schedules.
