My banana is fruiting but all the leaves are mostly brown and yellow. I know the main plant dies after it fruits. My question is, do I cut the bananas off the plant now and how do I get them to ripen?

Sounds like a trick question almost.. See if we tell you to cut them and they are to small they might not turn.. So a pic might help.. If fruit is to small people have had the fruit plump out on mother w/ no leaves thanks to the pups.. :^)
