Dave and Michael: is that Bermuda Grass I see in your photos? I've got plenty more if you ever run out. I have a tough time with it at my place. Bind weed (what I was taught to call morning glory when I was a kid) is also a big problem in my banana garden area.

I use quite a bit of glyphosate (generic form of Roundup) and know lots of folks on the forum are growing bananas organically. I often wonder if they would still get by doing that if they had Bermuda Grass. Dave, please don't send any seeds of your super vigorous form!!! :ha: |

Re: Some Banana Pup Pictures
With all these "Veinte Cohol " pups I guess the waiting list is history..... at least for .org members or at least that's how it should be. Mine has 5 now, not including the two I already potted. If it flowers on such a short cycle as it's touted to do this is one all of us in the north should be growing. It's supposed to flower sometime in August and produce edible fruit 2 months later from a 2' pup planted in May. If thats true I should have a flower sometime soon.... and a few pups for whoever wants them.

Haven't noticed any other than this little guy! I may need to put my glasses on and examine it a little further - looks like it may be a double. :ha:

Here's one of the outside bananas coming up. I'll need to cover it up and hope for the best when that blasted frigid cold front comes through on Groundhog's Day next week.
