I have a banana plant (basjoo) that was putting out a new leaf every 5 to 7 days during the heat of the summer but for the past 2 weeks there is no sign of any new growth even though the older leaves look fine. I fertilized with a slow release plant food so as not to burn the roots but no response. Any ideas wht I am doing wrong or is this to be expected?

You'll have to remind us where you live. Is it Cincinnati? I know I've sent you plants before but I can't remember where you live for sure. Depending upon what your night time temps are getting down to already, you could be experienceing a slow down in growth already. However, even if you are in Cincinnati, it seems a bit early for temps that cool yet.
