I think you have a lot to offer here. You also have quite an impressive resume.
I'd love to hear more about the tissue culture/research of bananas you're doing. Please put a post on here about something you're working on. It sounds fascinating!

Speaking of banana research, did anyone here see the piece on banana production on NBC Nightly News last night? It was pretty interesting. I do forget now if it was in Costa Rica or Ecaudor, but it was about Earth University and they are teaching sustainability and organics. It was a good report.

Thanks for the heads up. I missed it but here is the video. I have been buying the fruits and the paper from them! I'll make a new thread so more people can see it.

Okay, I have cheers and jeers for the banana paper and EVERYTHING ELSE that's ecologically friendly. If you want to make something ecologically friendly, then why not make it economically friendly with peoples wallets? I mean come on now... what pour single mother is going to buy her kid 8 notebooks at $8 each for school to be eco friendly when she can't afford it? If you want people to be so ecologically friendly, then why make it so unafordable to be... another great example hybrid cars. It seems you must be a millionare to save the world because most low, middle and even upper-middle class can't afford to be so ecologically friendly, which is where the classificaion of most major populations are. I know I for one couldn't afford anything eco-friendly... but I do try my hardest with what I can do!

I love the banana products though and it's so cool to not only see but be able to buy things. The more we help each other the more all this becomes a reality. I'm all for small business and in this day and age, a small business can market world wide with a simple website. On the other end of the scope it lets a consumer like me buy cool stuff that's earth friendly for gifts. Nope I sure can't use banana paper for all my paper needs but I can buy it as a gift instead of something else from a retail chain store that I have to drive to. Living out in the country it's cheaper to pay shipping often times than to drive to town and back for us with gas prices the way they are. I just can't wait for my yard to have lots of banana plants all over!! Deb ![]() |

My wife came home yesterday with a top made from bamboo, and it's really nice and soft unlike what I would expect it to feel like.

The bamboo material is amazing!
I have an 8 month old Black Lab and bought a few bamboo chew and tug o' war toys for him. ![]() Wow! That bamboo material is indestructable! I hightly recommend it for dog toys. Max has chewed on them constantly for a month now and hasn't even shredded a corner! All his other rope and rubber toys are destroyed! His Tug o' war toy just got washed and looks like new! The material is very soft and pleasant to the touch!!! Margie |
