That is pretty cool!
You shouldn't have to prove much. I know for a fact that people are Looking for Quality US grown bananas(fruit in general, really). It's the cost that no matter how well planned out might bite you. If that has to be passed on too readily than you aren't going to get what you want. I sell the bananas no problem. The Nam Wah have always been a Great seller. Though, the past couple years people have been freaking about the Patupi. But anything people haven't seen before will sell, and if its a taste they like it wont be hard to get them coming for more. There is always going to be an easy selling point if you have the ability to get to the people. I don't know if you are doing things organically but that would be a huge thing to think about. I love the bananas because they are literally plant & forget. They are harvested and dealt with to sell, but otherwise there is not much $$ involved. They grow with the cycles of the seasons & are available when they're available. Once you start doing what you're doing, though, things get expensive. No matter what, here in the US, needing GH's & the tons of input except in a few places. Even quality of the fruit; once you start needing to do things on purpose. Shipping for example it gos downhill fast. I'm just throwing out my pennies worth out there. I do what you're wanting to do, without the Awesome greenhouse of course, and a few less on the variety list. If you want dozens of banana varieties to try throughout the year, or plums, blackberries, figs, sugarcane, mulberries, passion fruit... COME LOOK IN POLK COUNTY! It's gone fast, though. I just sold my last bunch for the year. Dwarf Nam Wah; $25 just yellowing.
