It was sunny & mid 50'shere, greenhouse went up to mid 70's
Spent most of the day cleaning out the flower gardens of leaves & debris Also cleaning out the garage I need to build some shelves to store the Christmas decorations One shelf will be 46"x23', 2nd will be 4'x8' Time to fertilize the lawn & get that to turn green With warmer weather the heat is off for now & heating with wood Its been a toasty 74-5 most of the day inside |

Until it's 110F and all the bananas fry. I lived in SLC and it was a nice climate and bananas did well there in the summer. The greenhouse in my avatar is in Salt Lake.

It hit 78* F here yesterday but today it's back down in the mid 50's and breezy too. I'm so sick of all the plants in the house and jealous of all of you down south with bananas of all things coming up. I have some crocuses blooming and spring bulbs just starting to show here in Jersey.

I think I've been cured from my spring fever with this wintery forecast. Its going to get really cold by spring's standards (3 days of 15F below average!). I want spring to come so badly but until it gets warm, my plants will be enjoying the sun from inside my house!
Happy 1st day of spring everyone. Now I have to go and write a letter to Winter to tell him to leave because his time to shine is over but he doesnt know it yet!

Anyone east of the Rockies want to share some heat with California? we're freezing out here haha... Arctic storm after another. That high pressure off the atlantic needs to move! Tired of every day being 25 degrees below normal for 3 weeks. [/endrant]

Possibly a wintery mix on wednesday. I doubt any snow will stick to paved surfaces, but I really dont want to see snow this late in the year! I'm thinking of covering my palms. Just for comparison, last year I had many plants outside for the summer already!
Looks like at least another 10 days of below average temperatures and cold weather. Today (Tuesday) is the only day that will be average in the next 10 (55F and sunny). About 3 days in a row will have nights below 32F which will probably damage some of the blooming plants. Looks like spring is farther than we thought!

Good progress showing in all these with new leaves in all the curls.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These are all my in-ground (unprotected) bananas. For some reason though none of my potted bananas are showing anything at all .~JaNan
