Ensete Maurelii in HZ6?
I have just acquired an Ensete Maurelii in HZ6
Well I have always been an experimenter and with my new permanent winter/spring shelter I am confident, that I can get it through the next winter, providing, that it will take freezing temperatures to kill it and not, that the gelling sap will kill it at higher temperatures. Heeere she is!, posing in front of a Canna Australia and beside a basjoo, which is re- emerging from sever frost damage (the protection has slipped during the winter, leading me to devising a low cost permanent protection for winter and spring). Here she is again, strutting her stuff in front of a Sem (Sorbaria Sorbifolia) Doesn’t she look graceful? I hope, that I can keep her looking that pretty, as she grows to a more imposing size. To start out with I will give her a bigger pot, so I can adapt her slowly from partial shade to bright sunlight, because she comes fro a greenhouse with muted light. Then after a week or two she will get a prominent spot in my tropical planter I would like to hear about their experience from people, who have had the Ensete Maurelii in climates cooler that HZ8 Thanks, Olaf
