About fifteen months ago I had a wild hair to grow bananas. I knew zip, nada, nothing about growing these fascinating plants. That is till I found this forum.
Thanks to all you good people I now have bananas growing on a giant of a plant. Last year no one could believe that little Namwah TC would turn out to have a P-stem eleven feet tall in be better than a foot thick at the base in 7 months. Now, this year, watching a new, twenty banana hand form each day has us near speechless. I have what is suppose to be an Apple getting ready to flag I am guessing so this has been one fine growing year. Thank you all for sharing your banana growing expertise.

Congratz Randy. You picked a great variety to get a first flower. Namwah is a strong grower. Better make a prop for that pstem before the fruit gets heavier. Keep us updated.

It does have a support but oddly you can barely see the 1 1/2" PVC pipe in the picture. Thanks for mentioning the support because i might not have had one. This is plain cool!

Randy use the 2" PVC for a good size bunch better be safe. It should look something like this: Key is the 45º elbow and plastic coated wire wrapped around helps if you get winds. Congrats again!
