Do ants like Banana plants for some reason?

Could be. You need some frogs. They nestle down in the leaves and devour all invaders or did for me. I've never had ants or any other bug on my bananas.

Almost all my naners had ants this year still trying to get rid of em. They have not hurt the naners. Be carefull with frogs they attract snakes. But I got lots of frogs too.
