My Helen's hybrid seedling is about 7.5 months from germination, and when I went out to water this morning I noticed a pup!
Hopefully I'll be able to protect the pup over the winter at least, even if the main p-stem dies back. |

Definitely keep us posted on how it goes this winter.
I did a pretty thorough job of protecting my inground plants over the last winter, but only one made it...just barely. One of the corms did survive and sent out a small pup....but not until July. If you haven't already you can check it out in a thread a few threads down in the this 'cold hardy' section called 'Helen's Hybrid Update.' I am going to try again this year with a different seedling and a more substantial method of protection, so we'll see. Good luck.
