Default Newbie.

Hello. I now live in Palm Bay, Fl. and already have a bunch of manzanos out in the yard. (Hoping they ripen) Trying my hand (pun intended) at growing some other varieties. Looking forward to my Gros Michel fruiting, but that is a long way off... SO, if anyone has some and could spare a hand or so, I would love to taste these. (Got it from an Amazon seller, so hoping it's real. and I am willing to pay.) Recently got a sweetheart and "ice cream" from Green Earth Publishing in Melbourne, so hope they are reputable... Plants sure were strong and healthy. Any info I can get is appreciated. (So are banana samples.) Thanks.
Steve

Varieties I supposedly bought: Manzano, Cavendish, Blue Java, Sweetheart, and Gros Michel.
What it seems I actually have: Brazilian, Cavendish, Namwah, Dwarf Red, Gros Michel, Pisang Ceylon, Veinte Cohol and SH 3640, and American Goldfinger. FHIA 1, Paggi and FHIA 17... Always room for one more.

Welcome to the org. I hope you feel at home here.

The good thing is that there are lots of members in your area that can help or point you in the right direction on plants and fruit. You are so lucky.

I hope your plants do well for you. Good luck!

Welcome! I'm jealous of your Florida garden. Hoping to move down there in a year or two. Heads up - I feel like I've been spreading the word lately on this company, but I had bad experiences with my plants from green earth being wrong. Buy from forum members, much more reliable. I will be happy to share an ice cream later this season when I thin mine out, if yours doesn't grow true. There are probably others who could share with you now!
