Hi jp ,nice to meet you!I germinated about 15 ensete ventricosums in January.A few are a foot tall but they burn in the sun.now I keep them in the shade but there growing slow.any suggestions for faster growth and healthier looking plants?ill send pics as soon as I can.thank you dan.forgot they are the green species.

Hi Dan .. Welcome to Bananas.org! First of all: Congrats on germinating your ensete seeds. You will see that many here have tried and failed at that, so you are already a banana growing prodigy! lol It will be so helpful when you take and share pics .. BUT even more so, fill out your user profile more completely like your general location, planting zone etc. Nothing is more frustrating when trying to answer pplz questions than trying to guess their location/situation. I germinated ensetes during a long cold winter here in W. Pa some years back. I'm guessing you are in some warm balmy location FL or CA since you had such good germination and the sun outdoors is already burning your new babies!! .. looking forward to watching their progress!
