Hello all,
My name is Jasmine. I currently live in Northernmost PA but I grew up in Hawaii. One of my earliest memories is watching bananas grow on a tree and when ripe dragging it home. My mom was very upset as we couldn't begin to eat all of them but my brother and I had fun trying!!!!!! I will be buying my first home next year and plan to have an atrium attached within a year. I really miss fresh bananas, mangoes, papaya, pineapple, guava and am looking for ways to grow them in my new home. This site is AMAZING and I have already learned so much. I am greatly heartened to know that there are cold hardy varieties and small varieties that I can grow. |

Thanks for the warm welcoming.........With all of the snow we are getting I really needed something warm!!!!!!!
Hawaii was warm and very beautiful (and I miss it terribly), but honestly, Northern PA (country) in spring and fall will take your breathe away. Winter is also kind of pretty......as long as I am inside....definitely not a snow bunny lol This site is fabulous!!!!! I have already learned so much from your posts and can't wait till spring to get some banana plants. |

You know what ...........You made me remember something......uumpp!....I was born in CT and grew up part ways there.....any-oh-how.I remember not bringing home a bunch of bananas but finding an oily soaked mongrel terrier from the railroad tracks., I called him "Tearrupt",cuz he tore up everything! That was my childhood spelling and I'am sticking to it! Anyhow I bathe him in our tub. New glaze TUB !! May I remind you! Before then our tub was that double stone thing or single, depending on what they could get their hands on from where-ever; We just had outhouses point blank!!! God I must be Old. Anyhow I bathe that dog and left this greasy nasty white and black hairy dirty gunk around the tub after batheing the dog , heck i didnt see that !! I just saw a dog! My dog! I was a kid , what did i know about cleaning up! I was loved!!!!!!!! My Mother came home from work trudging....you know , tired....I can hardly make it tired. She was soooo so tired......she...came.... up....the stairs tired; to get her relief from the hard cruel wicked world, oh boy she was sooosoosoo tired . But she did work hard for us. She told us so. And what mommy said was REAL!! So of course She went into her spanking new bathroom where she could feel like a REAL person ! I was outside enjoying my new buddy; he was clean and oh so pretty to me! All of a sudden I heard my mommy carrying on about somethin ', ump guess she wasnt that tired after all............................................MG............... .......
