Does anybody else mulch their potted bananas? I had some extra mulch from a project and I decided to place it in a few of my bananas pots. I think it gives them a neat finished look. Just curious...

The only mulch I use in the pots are old banana peels.

I top mine off with mulch. Like the look, too.

I know I'm weird, but I hardly mulch anything (except tomato plants). I do not like it! Especially when I go to repot stuff - I hate picking out the mulch. Yeah, so I end up watering more, but I collect rainwater to use...

Anything that cuts down on weeding is a gift! If I remembered to say my prayers each night, I would start with, Oh, Lord, thank You for Your mulch."

Mulching your pots is a good thing to do. It saves water, looks good, and like Paul said, cuts down on weeding.

I use crushed black lava rocks in one of my potted Bananas and I love the way it looks!

Maybe I should mulch my Musa rubinea in its pot. The squirrels seem to love to scratch around adn I caught one just sitting earlier today. What should I use? I gotta do something fast, as I leave for a long vacation on Tuesday. I just hope my dad waters enough.
