Default Re: Hydroponics for begginers

This is a nice thread. I am interested. Please include the costs. I have a lot of questions in mind, like, if we use hydroponics in banana, will the growing period be hastened and thereby having fruits earlier? Is it necessary to put the plant in a greenhouse? How deep and wide is the root of banana normal growing condition? Should we have the same size of pot or container if we will use hydroponics? I read aeroponics is cheaper that hydroponics and since there is no stagnant water, it is beneficial to the roots of the plants. I am just wandering, is it possible to aeroponic banana, considering its enormous size? What's the difference in yield between the normal growing condition and hydroponics for banana? How about the taste of the fruit, is there a difference, maybe sweeter in hydroponics? How about pests, can we still plant like Gros Michel without worrying about the attack of Panama Disease? Thanks.
