Farmers in Hawaii trim the corms completely to remove all roots when planting a new field. The corms are as bare and white as a baby's behind. The plants do fine.

Plus, when one exports live plant material such as bananas to a foreign destination, it might be a quarantine requirement to trim the roots from the plant in order to remove soil particles.

Don't worry, be happy.
