Hey Chris, I would agree with you that Lowes or HD didn't purchase anything labeled as 'Margarita' this year. Lowes, however, did purchase a bunch of 'Siam Ruby' bananas and mislabel them as
Musa zebrina. As you may or may not know, 'Margarita' is just the name they gave to the green form of 'Siam Ruby', which was an accident from tissue culture.
It's not any variegation to write home about, and it probably isn't stable, but it is still variegation. I have an
Ensete ventricosum with this type of variegation on it that burns horrible in the sun on the white parts, and also crinkles on the white parts. Who wants that? Well...I still have it, LOL! Just because it has some variegation in it, I can't seem to let it die.
