Although I have no proof, after reading many posts here over the past month I'm coming to the conclusion that cold weather gardeners share a few of the same maladies. We all went through one of the colder winters on recent memory and I bet a lot of us( I know I did) rushed to get our plants outdoors or uncovered as soon as possible in the spring. Here at least it hasn't been the warmest spring in recent memory either. Naturally my first feeding was high nitrogen to jump start some new growth. "here's your food now hurry up and do something" So we all set out our tropical plants in the cool weather and our bananas are developing spots, curved leaves and leaves separating from the p-stem. I have a dwarf nam wah that is a robust healthy little specimen that has exhibited all of these to a slight degree yet I have no doubt that it's a healthy well cared for plant that just showed these symptoms being outdoors in an alien environment. The new growth is fine. I think in a month or so with continued warm weather a lot of these problems will just disappear.
