One of my friends used a thick gauge wire spring trap to get at some water monitor lizard, Varanus salvator, in the swamp area. He wanted one for curry. The trap was pretty big and heavy about 4ft x 2ft x 1ft. He baited it with chicken entrails. A big lizard got in, trap door shut. However, the holes of the wire was big enough for the feet to get through, the darn monster just walked away with it to my friend's amazement! He was so shocked, he didn't do anything!
