I've something for you from Sarawak -
Fermented Wild Boar Meat aka 1) Dead (Very dead) meat, 2) Eat it and you are dead and not moving! I haven't tried it but even my friend who works with the aborigines won't go near it.
It is actually in our sense, rotting meat. It is fermented by a type of hill rice. Smells exactly like rotting dead animal. The indigenous people eat it in the bush with rice.
I have tried the Balut from Philippines when I was there, ya know, duckling in the egg aka the eggs with legs? No big deal though.
I think Pat will fall off the chair if she knew what I have tried.
