Re: Musa Nagense Black Stem
I have had the same experience with Musa cheesmani that you two have. It has come back for me for the past 2 years, but it is pretty late returning, and it is really puny this year. I'd be very surprised to see it return next year, unless it starts growing about 2 leaves/week. The funny thing is that it came back from the pseudostem too, and I don't think it is 2 feet tall yet. On the other hand, my Musa itinerans is pushing 9 feet of pseudostem right now!
I got my Musa nagensium seeds from James at europalms.be, and they don't have any color in the midribs either. They don't have the incredible amount of wax that it is supposed to have on the underside of the leaves either. The pseudostems are starting to get darker though. I need to repot them badly, lol. They were sitting on their sides for a while, and all four of the bigger ones now are growing completely sideways. I should take a picture of that, it really is quite amusing.
