Looks like the petioles do have some pretty good 'wings' on them but do I see wine staining on some of those lower leaves? Also, the p-stems look pinkish to me and I don't remember seeing that on any of the basjoo I have grown with the possible exception of small pups when they first emerge.....however I have never been accused of being the most observant
