Default Cut Mine Back For The Winter........

........over a month ago. Mulched heavy with pine straw. It has been a warm Fall here in Atlanta and they've pushed back through the mulch about 2'. We have a 20' cold snap in a couple of days.
Should I cut this new growth back or just leave it for the cold to kill off?
