Just remember that even a "free" plant requires time for packaging and mailing on the part of the "giver", as well as shipping costs. I am a firm believer that in a one sided transaction, such as someone giving you a plant, shipping it etc, that you should compensate that individual for their time, effort, and expenses. If trading plants, go the extra mile to package well, and pay for expedited shipping. The other party will likely do the same.
