Root prune while the plant is in the ground to separate the plant from main plant.

Do not disturb/move anything else.....leave in place..just sever.
The plant will adapt fairly fast and enjoy the separation.
If one decides to move the plant in 30 plus days .....the plant should have enough rootstock to continue,

BTW>>>I saw your tomato pics and did not notice a person in the background for scale.

Lots of salsa in the fall

ME....Way behind ......I do have cucumbers though....
