I know it sounds improbable, but the picture you see with the all-white leaves is how it's been growing since separated from the mother plant a year ago.

Although the leaves have always been white, the stock has a slight greenish tinge, so I assume this is how it is able to create photosynthesis. It is very slow growing, as evident by the hammer used for scale. The plant's been growing in indirect sunlight to prevent leaf burn, which also my be a factor in its slow growth.

I've always heard that they die once separated from the mother, but this plant is proof that is not necessarily true.
