You can Google photos of them, they are not easy to see with bare eyes. They make a Web type cover on plants. I have no idea if they go for banana plants. I would think only on small tender plants. Can't imagine them on a large banana plant that is hardened off outside but maybe.

To treat them you could do the usual spray like neem etc. But to really eradicate them and keep them in check predator Californicus or other predator mites are available. The predator mites do work and will keep bad mites in check for the long run. They are a good addition if you grow a lot of stuff and have mite issues. They completely cleared up persea mites I had on my avocado grove.
