How many leaves have come out between the leaf that is pulling away and the new leaf? If the leaf pulling away was leaf # and that came out after it was leaf #2, what would the newest leaf's number be?

My dwarf Orinoco (which is still potted) had its last leaf pull away while the 9th leaf was coming out. The reason it occurs is physics. The curve of the oldest leaf sheath has much smaller curve and can no longer grip the larger pseudostem so it pops off, they weight of the leaf pulls it away.

Does that describe what is happening to your banana?
