Re: Anybody growing Green Sapote?
Richard,
I have a Green Sapote seedling growing in Glendora, CA. It's about 5ft tall. Right now it's pushing new growth but has not flowered yet. It seems to like the cool winter. For what I have read, seedlings take anywhere from 8 to 10 years to fruit.
By the way last year a contacted the person you're referring to in you post with the 2 Green Sapote trees. One of the trees had a fruit on one tree and 8 on the other one.
I visited Quail Botanica Gardens in San diego last year and they have 3 Green Sapote trees growing there. Two of them had fruit on them. I posted some pictures on Cloudforest cafe forum.
