Most edible Banana, and Plantains are Hybrids unlike the wild seeded species. This makes most of them sterile without seeds, and unable to reproduce except for dividing plant suckers/pups, and you get an empty fruit with no embryos/seeds. The small black specks in a store bought banana are failed embryos, wild species musa seeds are usually large, and very hard and can break a tooth.
