My son's elementary school has banana plants located in some of the strangest places. One plant in particular was planted on a tiny strip of grass along a fence that was maybe 2 feet wide. A very unusual place to put a banana plant given the nutrient and water requirements. Well, this plant to my surprise had a very healthy batch of hands hanging from it. I couldn't believe it.
Does anyone know what kind of banana plant grows well even under poor conditions?
