Well its been 4 years since
Stauntonia hexaphylla first came across my radar screen. I still have yet to come across anyone who has grown it. More information is now available on the web and a few nurseries are selling it. Apparently it is native to Japan where it is both a culinary delicacy and a medicinal plant. It is in the same plant tribe (
Lardizabaleae) as Akebia.
