All hello! This year has decided to make experiment. To land banana plants in the street. A climate at us severe, in a word Siberia. Snow in the summer can go and to be small frosts. But nevertheless it would be desirable to check up, whether bananas in the street can grow at us. Steady kinds have been chosen: it is original Musa sikkimensis and its version Musa sp. Helen's Hybrid or Musa Sikkimensis ' Red Tiger ' (it will be precisely possible to learn after flower occurrence). Have landed them in the end of June. And all has passed successfully. I am very glad to it. Plants have let out some new leaves and even small puppies have started to appear. In September have struck frosts and growth has stopped. Plants have dug out and have cleaned in a greenhouse. To leave for the winter, in the street, has no has washed off. The frost happens more-40 degrees in the winter and no shelter will help. And it would not be desirable to ruin plants. Here a photo. The next year I plan to land Musa Sikkmensis, Musa Sikkmensis ' Darjeeling Giant ' and Musa basjoo.
