I dug the plant up prior to fruiting to harvest the pups. If you look at the picture closely, you can see that it would have been nearly impossible to remove all 20 pups without destroying several of them, had I not dug up the corm. Besides, it produced 3 more viable pups while sitting in the compost pile, for a total pup count of 23. That's far more than I imagined it would ever produce in one season.
