I protect it with some christmas lights, a frost cloth, and a plastic garbage bin. It was unprotected during a night that went down to 20F, and it saw a late snow storm in March. It had no damage and grew quicker than ever this spring! Im not sure if I have a hardy oleander or not, but the hardy ones should be fine as long as its protected below about 15F (just to be safe even though it can probably handle much colder).
I hear the hardy ones dont flower as well as the more tropical ones so definitely look into that before buying one!
