Default Re: What did you harvest today (other plants)?

Morus rubra (red mulberry) becomes a large tree and some cultivars have dark and/or black fruit. It is a North American native.

Morus nigra is the true Pakistan native that grows to a large shrub.

I have a small "Kampong Sweet" from the Fairchild Tropical Gardens, that is also a good producer here. I think the species of both of these Morus is rubra, but I could be wrong. They taste wonderful as last night my wife made a Mulberry Cobbler! Yum!!

I have tasted a Morus nigra that grows on Campus at UF, the fruit is large and darker but is not as sweet. Thanks Ventura and Richard.
