-Italy is almost completely an eartquake prone country except from Sardinia... and not lightly but many places (where our genius would build a nuclear plant) are marked purple (purple is the most dangerous in the instability colour chart)

-It's not worth the billions of Euros compared to the power our plants will produce after (at least) 20 years... The 7 planned nuclear plants will produce 6% of Italian electricity demand after 20 years of costruction ... is it wort to spend untold billions to get that misery after 20 years ?

-Where do we put nuclear waste ? Non here would accept to have them stocked near his home for obvious reasons and it would be a crime to corrupt a 3rd world country to stock them for us.

-the fissile raw material is property of 4-5 countries that are not exactly stable and democratics... we are fighting to break our dependency from fossile energy justo to fall into dependency from uranium....

-The Uranium stock would last approx. 50-60 years at the current rate of extraction, but China and India are growing very fast and will ask for more energy (from nuclear too) very very soon at high rate, so the uranium's stock will be depleted faster and what after ?

I could go on about my contrariety against nuclear and the many reasons I would heavily switch to renewable powers (solar, aeolic, hydro, geotheric and biomass) but it would take me a lot of time to explain.....

That's why I changed my work here in Enel and I applied for renewable powers... I strongly believe in them especially after a read many enel's documents that people outside will hardly if ever know.
Rick, it looks like you are against it no matter the cost.
So I'm not going to continue in this discussion, although I would like to. The world's not black or white, it's greyscale.

But one thing peaked my interest. Which country in this world would you call a stable democracy?
