I have 2 jaboticabas that I bought 55 years ago. They were 20 years young at that time. It took 10 years to get a good crop. When my parents planed to sell there home I brought the trees to our yard. This one fell over once in hurricane Andrew and and 3 times 5 years ago when we were hit with 3 big storms. In the last years I have trimmed off half of the growth, it's just to big.
I moved this one a second time to get it in to a lighter area. This one also fell over in Andrew. It's only in the last few years that it started to have real good crops. They produce fruit off and on all year around. The best crops are from Jan.-June.
