Default Re: New banana seeds.... Viable?

Hi everyone, I just planted my ensete seeds after a 4 day soak in sterile water changed
daily. I read in my propagating book that for very hard seeds( scarify) rub on sand paper
wearing the outer coat while not damaging the embryo inside. Hot water soak of 113 degrees also helps. I have a food warmer plate and set it for the lowest setting where it didn't get too hot to put my finger in. Now the're on a heat matt. Temperature will be kept at no higher than 85 degrees. I planted all 20 since I've read so much about viability. Hopefully all this works. I only had one floater. I will keep you posted. BTW my
seed came from whatcom seedtrack.com.
