Even though the pseudostem is lost, does not mean it will not come back from the meristem. I have lost entire pstem in the past because the only protection I give mine is a good layer of mulch. Even if you lose the meristem, does not always mean the plant is a lost cause. More than likely it would generate a new pup from the corm. The only problem that might be of concern is if you planted it in a low area on your property and it stays sitting in water.
