Not technically. Musa acuminata is the parent species, but 'Dwarf Cavendish' (and I don't think that's what you've got) is a sterile triploid cultivar. Which is a good thing, because the fruit of real M. acuminata is seriously filled with seeds.

Nurseries do this kind of thing all the time, which is really frustrating.

Hopefully another banana maven will be along to ID that plant - it doesn't seem DC to me, since there's no red on the petioles.
