Re: Veinte Cohol is sick (indoor grow)

Re: Are these Corm Borers??
Try mixing diatomaceous earth, or granite dust into the soil when you do your planting. It tears up the flesh of grubs/larvae.

Re: Is this Namwah or Blue Java?
If the banana's blue up, it will be Blue Java. I don't think it's the "Ice cream"/Namwah (USDA "Fougamou 1") because the fruits individually meet the peduncle at a knuckle. Namwah fruit hands meet...

Re: fiber from juicer
I would use it in your compost pile first. Let it break down, and you'll have great soil amendment.

FYI, Jax is 9a. Cut down on fertilizer once the highs are under 70F, Water less, and wrap a frost cloth around the pseudo stem once winter actually arrives. I'm on the far-west side, and I've got a...

Make sure that you sterilize them in a bleach water solution. You don't want to bring tropical diseases into your area.

most "icecream blue java" TCs are going to end up as Namwah type bananas, or Orinoco. I did get one that appears to be a Gros Michel type. If you really want a Blue Java, then you should probably ask...

The fingers look similar to plantains. However, someone with more experience might be able to tell. Have you browsed the USDA TARS catalog?
