For ornamental bananas (seeded, inedible fruit), use a Citrus-type food with a relative High-Low-Medium N-P-K. For example: 9-3-6, 15-5-10, 20-10-15, 28-8-18.

For bananas you are growing for edible...

No plant benefits from vitamin B1. It is a long perpetrated error. There are several products that benefit orchids which say they contain B1, but the actual benefit is in another component.

I was referring specifically to micronutrients. They need to be present in certain ratios with each other -- too much or too little of one can (and often does) inhibit the uptake of another.

Anti-freeze for automobiles is worse, and Mint oil at that same concentration is also deadly. I don't know why people don't follow the safety precautions listed on the product.
