I have a Namwa bunch that filled out after only three months. You have a good chance to get mature bananas before frost is a problem.

I also had problems with internal corm rot last year. There was no evidence of corm weevil or nematode damage. The cause was probably fungal rot from too much water.

I have received the results from CMV and BSV tests on Namwah and SH3640.

Namwah tested negative for Cucumber Mosaic Virus and negative for Banana Steak Virus.

SH3640 tested negative for Cucumber...

Yes This plant has very rarely or never displayed leaf streaks. The symptoms were spit leaf sheaths near the bottom and bunches with small fingers and numerous large black spots. ...

I agree, the SH 3640 bananas are excellent quality. I have one SH 3640 plant with a bunch filling out now. Hopefully you can continue with your success growing bananas. It is a wonderful hobby.

Another point about the discoloration is it only appeared in the upper part of the P stem. The stem near ground level had no discoloration.
