They are not M. basjoo, the leaf shape and color are wrong. I'll snap a photo of my small M. basjoo and post it. M. basjoo has reddish midribs when it first emerges which fades some as time...

Your not very far from me. Where and when did you get your bananas? If you didn't plant them then most likely they are orinocos, this is the most common variety in this area. Do the leaves...

I have had Musa itinerans from three different sources; two separate sources of seed and tissue cultured plants. They all did fine with sun most of the day as long as they had water. I'm in S.E....
