What the heck? Namwah about to fruit at short height!

My Namwahs always seem to fruit at 8-10 feet in height, but I have one now that is 6 ft and about to fruit. I was shocked to see a preflag leaf half the size, and now the real small leaf with the...

Re: I thought the next generation is supposed to get taller?

Hmm... okay thanks. I thought I had seen a post a while ago about how each generation the stem gets taller before it fruits? Certainly not 3 feet shorter though, right?

I thought the next generation is supposed to get taller?

My Namwah fruited last year at 10 feet in stem height, now look at one of last year's pups, it's putting out a preflag at 7 feet tall?! I assume it's a preflag since the newest leaf is half the...

Re: Dwarf Namwah oddly tall this year

Wow, thank you for posting these pics. I also wondered if I had dwarf namwah or not, but now I definitely can tell I have the tall variety. Mine have a lot more spacing between the leaves and not as...

Re: From Gloom to Doom

I didn't even get a chance to try one, they were no where near ripe. I could hardly even peel one. Thanks for the heads up, I guess fertilize it is! First year that I'm going to try some Banana Fuel,...

Re: From Gloom to Doom

Here's the 5-6 footer that will likely bloom this year, although if it does, it probably won't be until the fall again! Maybe I should hold off on the fertilizer so it doesn't, and then it would be...

Re: Christmas lights, frost cloth, how to keep them alive in unheated greenhouse.

I am using non-LED but the small bulbs, which don't seem to put out much heat. They are right on the stem, I guess I will have to closely watch.

Re: Christmas lights, frost cloth, how to keep them alive in unheated greenhouse.

Thanks for the great idea. I wrapped a Namwah that's fruting right now with Christmas lights and burlap around the trunk, and then a giant sheet of plastic around the whole thing. It has been down to...

Re: Leaves are getting smaller... Paddle leaf?

That's going to be me soon. I have a 4 and 6 ft pup I'm digging up before winter. A few other pups I'm going to leave planted in the ground and see how they do. And of course, this one that is a...

Re: Leaves are getting smaller... Paddle leaf?

That's what I thought, but according to our local WMBF news a cold front is pushing through and there's the possibility of patchy frost in areas. It's crazy because we have had 80 degree days, and...
