I would not be able to harvest any corn if I did not have an electric fence around it. You put it up so there is a wire about 4 inches off the ground and another one between eight and 12 inches off...

I'm in Longmont CO and have been growing bananas about 10 years, I haven't found any fruiting bananas that are even close to hardy here. I do have a blooming DC now though.

If your sun room is heated in winter your plants should do great.

Most European pears have to be picked green and chilled for a whole. If they are left to tree ripen they are way over ripe and mushy in the middle by the time you think they are ripe.

What USDA zone are you in? You may consider putting a small string of Christmas lights inside the Styrofoam box to add a little heat if it gets to cold.
