Maybe should have tried all perlite and filled enough so that there’s water on the surface and touching the pup. That way there was airflow and lower the chances of Rot and see any changes. Good try,...

yeah i wouldnt know, the people that were doing that overwintering showed pics on here, there was snow on top of them so do a search like "overwintering bananas" and see if the pics are still up and...

looks like black sooty mold. never seen it on bananas, i get it on my citrus trees but i mist it with some copper fungicide for a couple hours to a days then i wash it off with water hose.
